Accordingly, we describe a new cork-oak forest association subhumid to humid, thermomediterranean, siliceous, from ``Marianico-Monchiquense{''} sector as a climatophilous serie, named Lavandulo viridis-Quercetum suberis new ass. Their floristic, ecologic and dynamic particularities are exposed. It's also presented a comparison with the rest of the cork-oak communities described to the Querco rotundifoliae-Oleion sylvestris Barbero, Quezel &amp; Rivas-Martinez in Rivas-Martinez, Costa &amp; Izco 1986 alliance. Finally, some considerations are made about the conservation status of these sclerophyllous formations and highlighted the most important management policies that aim to protect, recover and increase the value of cork-oak forests.</style>
<issue><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">4</style></issue><notes><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">The following values have no corresponding Zotero field:&lt;br/&gt;pub-location: FACULTE DE PHARMACIE, BP 83, F-59006 LILLE-CEDEX, FRANCE&lt;br/&gt;publisher: SOC BOTANIQUE FRANCE</style></notes></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Bartolo, Giuseppina</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Brullo, Salvatore</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Minissale, Pietro</style></author><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Spampinato, Giovanni</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Contributo alla conoscenza dei boschi a Quercus ilex della Sicilia</style></title><secondary-title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Acta Botanica Malacitana</style></secondary-title></titles><keywords><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">phytosociology</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Quercus ilex woods</style></keyword><keyword><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Sicily</style></keyword></keywords><dates><year><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">1990</style></year><pub-dates><date><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">1990///</style></date></pub-dates></dates><urls><web-urls><url><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">http://dspace.uma.es/xmlui/handle/10630/3331</style></url></web-urls></urls><volume><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">15</style></volume><pages><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">203 - 215</style></pages><language><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">eng</style></language>
<style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">In this paper the Quercus ilex woods occurring in Sicily were examined. Apart from the associations previosly observed in this territory, the presence of Ostryo-Quercetum ilicis is reported for the first time; besides some new subassociations of the Querco-Teucrietum siculi and of the Aceri obtusati-Ostryetum curpinifoliae are described.
