Sheep flock in EXTREMADURA, Spain, accounts for 1.300.000 heads beying the firts province in the national ranking and with 2.300 Tm. of sheep meat, mainly lamb, in 1978. Wool production in Spain was 21.962.517 Kg. with 4.200.000 Kg. in this region for the same year. Response to phosphorus fertilizar of natural pasture, subterranean clover introduction, use of forage for supplementation, management of stocking rate and reproductive systems are the most important tools for increasing outputs in sheep producers.
